Over the lifespan of a computer it is common for users to download programs, applications and other data that ends up "running in the background." To better understand what causes your computer to slow down over time (and what you can do about it), here are ten sources of “digital dust." The tips are based on a blog post Agent Wiebusch did a couple years ago on reasons your computer may be running slow. If working on your machine seems intimidating, that might be the way to go.
